Preventing Diaper Rash: A Simple Routine That Works

Most diaper rash comes from moisture, friction, and irritation. The fastest path to improvement is consistency: clean, dry, protect.

Change quickly after bowel movements. Clean gently with fragrance-free wipes or warm water, then pat dry—don’t rub. If possible, let skin air-dry for 30–60 seconds before a fresh diaper.

Use a thin barrier layer (like zinc oxide) to protect skin from moisture. If you see red marks that linger, consider sizing up or choosing a stretchier fit to reduce friction.

If a rash lasts more than a few days, looks very bright red, or has small bumps, it may be yeast-related. In that case, you may need a different treatment plan. Most mild rashes improve within 48–72 hours with a gentle routine.
