Diaper cream is best used as a barrier when skin is irritated or when your baby is prone to rash. Apply a thin layer—more isn’t always better. The goal is to protect skin from moisture, not to create a thick coating.
If skin looks healthy, you may not need cream at every change. Overuse can make cleanup harder and may cause slipping if the diaper isn’t fastened securely.
For stubborn rashes, use a stronger barrier and focus on dryness and frequent changes. If a rash persists, consider that it may not be simple irritation and seek guidance.
